Summary

  • If you use an application for your course, Maven has built custom email campaigns for each step of the student enrollment journey.

  • You can customize these emails in your course admin dashboard.

  • By default, these are turned on.

Automated emails for application courses

The automated emails for courses using applications are:

  1. Waitlisted - sent to students who sign up for your waitlist.

  2. Incomplete application - sent to students who started their application, but didn't complete it.

  3. Application received - sent to students who submit an application.

  4. Application accepted - sent to students who you have accepted but who haven't yet enrolled.

  5. Enrolled for Free - sent to anyone you enroll into your course for free (often used for enrolling supporting staff or scholarship recipients).

  6. Enrolled - sent to anyone who has paid for your course.

Email campaign for converting accepted students

In your Maven platform, there's an additional set of emails useful for converting prospective students to enrolled students. In some courses, we’re seeing conversion rates as high as 80% from acceptance to enrollment. That means 4 out of every 5 accepted students end up enrolling in a course. While we can’t promise results, we know email campaigns are performing better than a single email acceptances.

This additional campaign can be turned on and edited in the automations tab of the Email screen in your Maven admin dashboard.

The emails in this additional "Application accepted" campaign are:

  1. {{StudentName}}, welcome to {{CourseName}}!

  2. One more step

  3. Join us for the first class of {[CourseName}}

Note that each email comes with a pre-set template written by the Maven staff. You can edit each template as needed and change the time delay for when emails are sent. Each email comes pre-set with a recommend timeline for sending.

Customize your emails

Your emails are on by default but you can easily toggle them on and off depending on what's right for you. When you click each email in your course admin dashboard, you'll have the opportunity to edit your email templates and add suggested variables to personalize the emails even further.

Remember to click "Save changes" when you're done editing your emails. Emails don't auto-save because we don't want emails automatically sending to new applicants when you're halfway through re-writing your email.

You have the ability to send yourself a test email to see how your email will appear to students.

Note: Automated lead nurturing emails will contain an unsubscribe link. Here is the copy for the unsubscribe footer: “P.S. This was written and sent by me using Maven’s email platform, and all replies go to my inbox. Please click here to unsubscribe.”

If a student unsubscribes from any email associated with your course, they are unsubscribing from commercial emails related to your course, but will still receive relevant informational emails. For instance, if a student unsubscribes from one of your waitlist emails but later enrolls in your course, they will still receive all relevant emails sent to enrolled students.
